I really do very much enjoy the website Pinterest. It’s like a women’s online paradise, and i’ve heard absolutely nothing but good things about it, and i’ve seen nothing but good and awesome things on it. However, I do wonder why it is exclusively for Facebook users to use, and not for non-facebook users to use as well. Really very ignorant on the part of the people who run the site…i’m just sayin’. I would definitely join in an instant if that wasn’t a requirement to join up. Remember where I said ‘very ignorant’? Oh Well, I will still frequent Pinterest many times a day, like I already do. Maybe someday, the website floodgates will open, and it will be available to those females who don’t waste their valuable time Facebooking and/or Twittering. Boy, do I ever feel better for getting that out of my system. End of rant! :) Enjoy Your Saturday! :)

Skeeball. I feel like I am in an arcade playing this game again, and was thrilled to find an online version of it. I did pretty good, considering that I haven’t played it in years. :) Enjoy it, and your Friday! :)

Tom’s Nook Website

No, I am not talking about a Barnes & Noble Nook kind of thing today, but rather, someone’s personal website that was shared with me, that I really enjoyed & wanted to share on here. Oh, and I decided to nominate it a ‘cool site of the day.’ Tom’s Nook has lots of cool things on it, so be sure to check it out. I will be doing good to get anything constructive done with my day, since spotting a ‘puzzles’ link on the website. :) Enjoy Your Thursday! :)

Very very cool, and I intend to try this. If you want ice cream in minutes, without having to use an ice cream maker, check out the link, and then the recipe. It blew my mind to see how quick this can be done. Enjoy Your Wednesday! :)

Homemade Ice Cream In A Bag

Ingredients:

2 tablespoons sugar
1 cup half and half
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup salt (The bigger the granules, the better. Kosher or rock salt works best, but table salt is fine.)
Ice cubes (enough to fill each gallon-size bag about half full)
1 pint-size ziplock bag
1 gallon-size ziplock bag

Instructions:

1. Combine the sugar, half and half, and vanilla extract in the pint-size bag and seal it tightly.

2. Place the salt and ice in the gallon-size bag, then place the sealed smaller bag inside as well. Seal the larger bag. Now shake the bags until the mixture hardens (about 5 minutes). Feel the small bag to determine when it’s done.

3. Take the smaller bag out of the larger one, add mix-ins, and eat the ice cream right out of the bag. Easy cleanup too! Serves 1.

Consider This When Helping a Friend in Need

May 14th, 2012  / Author: Jenn

“Silence is sometimes the best answer.”

From an early age, we’ve all been taught the importance of problem solving. Yet, sometimes, we can help people more by not trying to find solutions. In fact, on occasion, silent listening and empathy can be a priceless gift.

People who are grieving the loss of a loved one or a relationship, need time to mourn, not quick solutions. They need you to listen while they pour out their hearts; they want a silent hug, not instant answers.

A friend who is ranting and raving about her partner may just need to let off steam. An understanding smile and a hand on the shoulder may be the best support you can give.

Why not try a little silence today? You may find it says more than a thousand words!

Twelve Ways to Keep Smiling!

Hold on to your dreams and never let them go.

Show the rest of the world how wonderful you are

Give circumstances a chance , and give others the benefit

of the doubt.

Wish on a star that shines in your sky.

Take on your problems one by one and work things out.

Rely on all the strength you have inside.

Let loose of the sparkle and spirit that you sometimes try

to hide.

Stay in touch with those who touch your life with love.

Look on the bright side and don’t let the losers keep you

from winning.

Be yourself, because you are filled with special qualities

that have brought you this far and that will always see you

through.

Keep your spirits up.

Streak of bad luck

If you’re having a bad day, or a bad week or year, it’s nothing personal. In fact, it’s nothing at all.

The fates are not malevolently aligned against you. You’ve just chosen to see it that way.

Your streak of bad luck will end at precisely the moment you decide it is over. The only thing that can make the future look bleak is your agonizing over the past, and that can end right now.

Misfortune is difficult when you’re living through it. Yet as you do live through it, you build strength, experience, determination, and a solid connection to authentic purpose.

Instead of seeing yourself as a victim of your troubles, realize that as of now, you are very much a beneficiary of them. Though the pain may be deep, the power is even more profound.

With a renewed sense of purpose, look forward and move forward. Your future is yours to choose.

Enjoy Your Monday! :)

Richie Rich was one of my favorite cartoons growing up, and was a little disappointed to not come across more videos of it than I did. The good classic stuff has left the tv, and its looking few and far between on the internet too. :( Enjoy Your Saturday, and m_c1e3f63b50c8e4c88f8e389dea487a5b1

Non-Toxic Remedy For Spiders Elimination

May 11th, 2012  / Author: Jenn

Current Mood:Happy emoticon Happy

Not sure yet if this works, but I sure intend to try it. If you detest spiders like I do, you will try ANYTHING, right??? :) Thanks be to the good friend that shared this with me. Enjoy Your Friday! :)

At the beginning of fall, in the produce section of your grocery store, there is a product called a hedge apple. Not sure of the technical name for these, but they are about the size of a baseball, color is a light green, and they are very hard. Put some of these in your basement, set on a piece of foil, out of reach of kids and pets. They will turn black during the winter, but for some reason they work to keep spiders out of the house. Since we have started using them a few years ago, we don’t have spiders any longer! They do work! or Use your vacuum cleaner with a long wand. You don’t have to touch them at all.
